Buying a Lemon, Moving On

There is nothing worse then buying something brand new, and finding out, the hard way, it's a lemon. I was in the middle of this maddness and it's wearin' me out!

There is nothing worse then buying something brand new, and finding out, the hard way, it's a lemon. I was in the middle of this maddness and it's wearin' me out!

I am a person that gets very comfortable with things and does not really think about replacing or upgrading things that often, accept for my iPhone of course, until something goes wrong. I am talking about my iMac computer system that I use 7 days a week, 365 days a year to support myself, my golf obsession and my loving family.

I bought my 30" apple display about 10+ years ago and my 24" iMac about 6 years ago, and recently decided it was time to upgrade to a new 27" Thubderbolt display with a new 27" iMac. Four days into using it, I started to see screen "ghosting" or what Apple calls "image persistence". What ever they call it, it's god damn annoying. I still think the machine has a video card or hardware issue, but I have a few things I can do to work around the "image persistence". Not ideal, but not sure I can take another 3 days to install all my software and OS again. I just need to get back to the grind!

The iMac and monitor are running like a dream. Fresh OSX and software installs. Cleaned up my font library. It was a bumpy road initially due to my constant need to have things done fast. Each time I upgrade my computer, I always migrate my OS intact and it finally caught up with me. Wacked preferences, etc. Thanks to my friends Bill and Phil from Phil Tanenbaum Computer Assistance I am up and running and back to being creative and back to keeping my inbox cleaned out!
